Obituary of Frank Anthony Heinz

Frank Anthony Heinz of Rockledge, FL passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020. He was 89 years old. Frank was born in Bloomington, IL on September 11, 1931 to Peter and Clara Mae Heinz. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris, his four children and their spouses, Jim (Darlene) Heinz, Mary (David) Huseonica, Joe (Sherry) Heinz, Tony (Terri) Heinz, and 11 grandchildren. He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. After being discharged, he attended Duns Scotus College and received a Bachelors degree in Social Work. Following that he moved to Seattle, WA where he was the director of a boys’ home for three years. There he met and married the love of his life, Doris Podhorn. They moved to Cleveland, OH where Frank received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University. In 1970, they moved to Rockledge, FL where Frank worked tirelessly as the Executive Director of Catholic Social Services for over 27 years. In addition to a career dedicated to helping others, he was also a wonderful husband and a devoted father, father-in-law & grandpa who loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren playing board games, fishing and shrimping. An avid Chicago White Sox and Orlando Magic fan, he was a tremendous tennis and pool player, loved playing cards, and always had a good story to tell.
