Obituary of Monte Kraft

Monte was born February 28,1948. In Fairbank, Iowa. He passed away December 26,2020 at Wuesthoff hospice in Rockledge Florida from natural causes. He was 72. Monte was a Vietnam veteran and became an ironworker in 1971. He was the president of Ironworkers local 89, Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 2002 to 2005. He retired in 2007. Monte was quick-witted, he loved his family, his PBR and his cat named squirrel. He was preceded in death by his father Frederick P. Kraft, his mother Elaine E. Kraft, his sisters, Darylynn K. Bates and Elizabeth A. Luck. Survivors include his brother, Philip L. Kraft,. children Sherri Hackbarth, Mike Hackbarth and Monte C. Kraft ll (Megan) six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nine nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews, his ex wife Lamilda Kraft. A celebration of life will be held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to be announced in the summer 2021 depending on covid-19. Monte will be cremated and will be interned at the Fairbank Cemetery in Fairbank, Iowa at a later date.
