Obituary of Minna Ann Dew

Minna Ann Dew, of Melbourne, Fl, passed away on December 24, 2021 due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Minna was born to Harry and Sarah Snyder in Allegheny County, PA some time ago. Minna believed that age was a state of mind, so her age is omitted here per her custom. Minna attended Pembroke College, graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a B.S. in Languages and earned her Masters and Sixth Year in School Psychology from Southern Connecticut State College. Minna retired as a senior probation officer for the State of Connecticut after 20 years of public service. There, she used her writing and research skills to prepare detailed pre-sentence investigations for the criminal courts. She received letters of commendation from judges, prosecutors and even defense attorneys. After moving to Florida, Minna volunteered on the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee. Minna’s hobbies included cooking, reading, tennis, and traveling the world with her camera. Ahead of her time, Minna owned and operated a dating service back in the 1980s. Minna was notorious for her candor and sense of humor. Minna is survived by her two daughters Julie Harrison (Stephen Watts) and Eve Harrison (Marc Rosen) and 4 grandchildren: Nina, Ruby, Joseph and Zev. The family will be holding a private memorial service later this month. THE FAMILY WISHES THAT NO FLORAL OFFERINGS BE SENT. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS PLEASE PLANT A TREE OR DONATE TO A HOPICE ORGANIZATION.
