Duane Fredette

Obituary of Duane Robert Fredette

Duane Robert Fredette 17 Aug 1953 – 27 April 2022 The world paused on April 27th, 2022 because Duane Robert Fredette, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away from this life. Duane went peacefully in his sleep at home after struggling with medical issues. Born August 17th, 1953 in Ware, Massachusetts, he lived life to the fullest. Duane was passionate about his work in orthopedics, where he earned the respect and admiration of doctors, nurses and all the surgical support staff over his 35-year career. He was deeply proud of his two children Nicholas and Natalie. He was married for 43 years to his wonderful wife Peggie. They built great memories together; from being newlyweds stationed in Wurzburg Germany, to buying their family home and raising children in Rockledge FL, to drives up the coast for vacations to Charleston as “empty nesters”. A lifelong fan of Boston sports, even when one of the teams “stunk”, he loved nothing more than enjoying a Patriots game with his children, a cold beer, and plenty of Dolphins fans to banter with (go Pats!). May we remember him as a man who strived to be better for his family, work colleagues, patients, and friends. Duane especially enjoyed volunteer trips all over the world with Operation Rainbow to help those less fortunate have a chance at a good life. In lieu of flowers we ask that you please make donations to this charity that he was so passionate about. In lieu of a formal service, we’ll be hosting something more Duane’s style, which is one last get-together at Ruby Tuesday’s in Rockledge to share fond memories, crazy work stories, and sports moments we enjoyed with him. His son Nick will be offering a Toast to Duane. Duane is survived by his loving wife Peggie, his children Nicholas (spouse Janice) and Natalie (spouse Gerald), grandsons Gabriel and Gavin, his sister Donna (spouse Tom), nephew/godson Michael, and his nephew Eddie. Duane was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Inez, his brother Roland “Skip”, and his sisters Bernie and Charlene. Go Pats! We love you Dad.
